My Weekend Recount!

Today our teacher Mrs ghosh said that we had to do a holiday recount, it had to be 100 words to make it harder. I didn't do much in my weekend except help my mum & dad sort out our garage so that is what I wrote about.
Here it is!

This weekend I helped my mum and dad sort out our garage. We were sorting out the thousands of party supplies my mum had for her business. Our aim was to make all the products visible rather than looking in boxes. It was actually really fun sorting them out in themes and it was nice to look at too. We found some stuff that we had been looking for for ages and also found stuff that we didn’t know we had. Some products were as wrinkly as an elephant. The boxes were big. In conclusion I had a good weekend!

My Reflection Of This Year!

This year has been challenging as well as fun. I have learnt a lot and have made a lot of improvement in my writing. I would have probably liked to spend more time at school but I couldn't do anything about it. I think Mrs ghosh has been a good teacher and I'm ready to start a new year.

Weaving!

Today for one of my writing tasks I had to write about the weaving we did last Friday. It had to be exactly 80 words.

Here is my story!

Last Friday our student teacher told us that we had to do some weaving. We did it because we watched

a video about how people had to do a karakia before they chopped a bush so they could do some

weaving. We had two options to either watch a video off youtube our make a square with miss rose

under the fale. It didn’t start off too great for me as I had ripped one of my pieces of paper.

My Jack And The Bean Stalk

Today for one of our tasks we had to right our own version of Jack and the beanstalk. To make it more difficult we had to make it exactly 100 words! We also had to make a different ending instead of Jack taking more than he needed he had to only take 5 gold coins.

Here is my story!

Yesterday Jack had traded their cow for magic beans and his mother had threw them out the window but

today jack looked out his window and saw a beanstalk so he climbed up it. When he got to the top he saw

a castle so he snuck inside. The first thing he saw when he got inside was a bag of five coins, Jack took

them but unfortunately at that moment a giant saw him and chased him down the beanstalk but he had

heart attack so Jack and his mum lived happily with there much needed five gold coins.

My Kahoot!

Today I made a kahoot! It's about soccer because I know lots of facts about soccer. On my first attempt I accidentally exited the tab and it wouldn't let me log in again so I had to make another account and start over again. When you click on the kahoot link it says "  The page you were on is trying to send you to https://create.kahoot.it/my-library/kahoots/all. Just click on that link and you should be fine!

Untitled

Today I have 0 ideas of what to write about cause we have been in lockdown for like 90 days! I usually write about work but I've already wrote about all of it. I think I will have much more inspiration when life returns to normal. I have been thinking about what I'm going to write in my blog post everyday but today I couldn't think of anything at all. I am glad that this is almost over and that we will be able to go to school next Wednesday.

Going Back To School!

Yesterday they announced that we will go back to school next week on Wednesday which I am very happy about! I haven't seen my friends for a long time so it will be exciting seeing them again! The only problem is some of my friend's parents will be scared to send their children to school so I might not get to see very many people. It will be weird going back to school and getting back the routine because we haven't been to school for almost 90 days. I think I might catch covid at school but you never know.

A Picture Prompt About A Park!

Today our student teacher made us do yet another picture prompt this time the picture was of a park. I found this picture much more hard to write about then yesterdays picture for some reason.
Here is my writing!

It was a bright sunny day in New York when everyone gathered at the park for the one and only free everything day! Loads of businesses would give out items for free, all you needed to do was give them something from your business. The celebration would start a three o’clock but many people were already there at 9 o’clock! The big city of New York in the background would make up more than 80% of the people there. The main reason people were here was because of The Party Room’s big offer which was one free balloon garland for nothing absolutely nothing! Some people had been camping over night here but when the festival started something bad happened….

What do you think happened? Answer in the comments!

Freedom Day For Auckland!

Today is freedom day for Auckland! This means everyone across Auckland can now go to the shops and meet with up to 25 people outside. Some people have been camping overnight since Sunday to get a good spot for when the malls open. With lines up to 100 people I highly recommend staying as far away from the shops as you can. These big lines contain groups of people without masks. Auckland has also hit 90% first vaccination dose which means when all those people get thier second does we will move into the traffic light system.

My Kitten Picture Prompt!

On my Goggle meet this morning my student teacher sprung a surprise picture prompt on us. She set a timer of what I think was about 10 minutes. We all had different perspectives on the picture. From my perspective I thought it was a boxing match. What do you think is happening?

Here is the picture prompt!

The epic boxing match final: K K John from the left corner up against Lomiy Alo. Ding ding ding the fight

has begun. While their owner slept they were creating a historic battle. A fierce punch from K K John, how

does Lomiy Alo respond? Boom! “That’s the toughest punch I have ever seen” said the commentators. K K John was on the ground trying

to push Lomiy Alo away but Lomiy Alo was too strong. One good punch and history! Lomiy Alo takes the

heavy weight boxing title away from K K John for the first time in forever. How do you feel Lomiy Alo?

“ I I I feel great.” And that is that Lomiy Alo wins the heavy weight championship along with 1 million

dollars!

The Dead Bird's grave!

Last Friday I found a dead baby bird on the side of our house. I told my neighbor and sister and they came to see it for themselves. We eventually identified that it was a pigeon. My neighbor suggested we make a grave for it and we agreed. We took it and put in a hole in our front garden. After that my sister and neighbor decorated it with some flowers and stones. Now we needed a name for the bird and we settled on beagle.

Here is the grave!

My Moral Of The Story!

Today for one of my writing tasks I had to write a fairy tale that had a moral of the story. Please tell me in the comments if you don't have access to the video in my story.

Here is my story!

Tim eats and steals food!

Once upon a time there was a boy named Tim who lived on Mars. He really liked to eat and

steal food. He often went to Earth, smashed someone’s window, went into their house and

stole all their food. Then he would get into his rocket ship and go back to Mars to put the food

he stole in his house but he usually ate all it before he landed. One day Tim was on his way to

steal some food when his rocket ship started beeping. One of the engines had broken down! Tim

panicked and got his parachute and landed in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan! Tim saw a house

and smashed the window of it but it turns out it was the Afghan army camp. Luckily they were

doing Afghan star jumpso they didn’t notice. Eventually Tim found a good house to steal food from but just when he

was about to bite an apple a police man walked into the house and arrested him! He was

accused of taking a video of the nation of Afghanistan at its worst and was imprisoned for twenty

years.

So the moral of the story is don’t steal food!

Having Fun In My Paddling Pool!

Yesterday my sister and neighbor were having a play date at our house when my sister suggested we should blow up the paddling pool. My neighbor agreed so my dad started blowing up the paddling pool. Once he had finished blowing it up he started filling it with the hose and said it would take about 45 minutes for it to fill up. While we were waiting I got my water gun and started shooting my sister and my neighbor who tried to use a towel as a shield. Eventually the pool filled up and we took turns cannon balling diving and a whole lot of over stuff. Then it was lunch time so we went to eat. I had a sandwich and my sister had dumplings. My neighbor had sushi. We also all had a chocolate muffin! Unfortunately after that my neighbors cousins came over so she had to go back home.

Killing Wasp Hives.

Yesterday my neighbor told us that they had some wasp hives and asked if I could come over and kill them. I said yes because I like killing wasp hives. I was climbing over the fence and then all of a sudden two king fishers started flying around me. I told my neighbor and my sister to come so they could see them and at that point they were flying right over our heads. After watching them for about five minutes I climbed over the fence to go kill the wasp hives. I thought they were going to be reasonably big but were actually pretty small. After I killed all of them the wasps came to find that their hives were gone so I tried to kill the wasps too but I only managed to kill one.

A Story About A Faun, A Ripped Invisibility Cloak And More!

(Quick blog post) Today we had a surprise writing task. We had to write about a faun, a ripped invisibility cloak and a few other things.

Here is my story!

Once upon a time in planet faun (which is very far away) on of the fauns.

Silomumkiplongfurbearbeepooalexmigig was out farming. Silomumkiplongfurbearbeepooalexmigig’s

nickname was Bob so thats what I will call him from now on. Back to the story Bob was farming on a

regular monday morning when he heard a scream of one of his friends in the distance. Bob didn’t take

much time before he was running towards where the screaming came from in his invisibility cloak. After

running for a while Bob found a witch’s tower and his friend was on the top level. Bob saw an open

window so he climbed in and ran up the stairs but Bob’s invisibility cloak got caught on a stick and ripped!

Then a witch said “who’s in my house”. Bob ran as fast as he could up the stairs and opened the door and

rescued his friend but there was no windows so Bob had to perform karate on the witch who died

immediately. Bob and his friend lived happily ever after.

Going To The Beach!

In the weekend me and my family went to the beach for a picnic. Before you get to the beach there is a bush walk which takes you to the beach. On the way we found a log that went over a 10 meter canyon so I decided to climb over it when my mum wasn't there. When you got to the end of the tree there is a beautiful view. You can see the beach and the water, it is amazing. Eventually we got to the beach and we were the only ones there which was nice. About 10 seconds after we got there we found a river. We chucked some sticks in it so we could walk over it. After we crossed the river we went crab hunting. I found the largest alive one and my mum found the largest dead one. It was about 2 times the size of the alive one. We started to get hungry so we went back to have lunch. I had some berries and a pull apart bun. Everyone had the same as me except for my sister who ate pizza bread. A little while later it started raining so we went home.

Another Picture Prompt

This week for one of my writing tasks we were given a picture prompt that we had to write about. We had two pictures we could choose. I chose this one because the other one looked slightly boring.

Here is my picture prompt!

As the flames burned on, the end of time got nearer. The candle of life losing its brightness. All it needed was someone to make its ember flare again but the nearest town was miles away. The candle is fire, fire of the world.
As the candle got duller and duller a speck of hope was seen in the distance. It wasn’t as small as an ant but not bigger than a beetle. It was a light just like him but being held by a mysterious creature. Wait said the candle of life, aren’t does h...h… humans!
If they have candles they could light me up and …… the earth will be saved!
The candle of life had to get their attention somehow so he used his flame and pressed harder then he ever had before to make it so bright you couldn’t miss it.

“Look over there” said one of the humans. He had got their attention! “Looks like a pretty dim candle” said the other one. “ Might as well light it up with our candles” said the first human.
“Oright said the second human.
As they got closer the candle of life was dimmer than it ever had been before. At last the candle of life was back to full strength.
The candle of life would be able to survive another 250 years before it would need refilling but life may not exist on planet earth by then.

My Rangoli Pattern

This week is Diwali. Diwali is an Indian festival so for one of my tasks I had to make a rangoli pattern (Hindu pattern) witch is usually made on the floor with colourful rice powder. I decided to do mine digitally because why not? It was extremely hard to make the flower out of moons! I used gradient colours (from dark to light) because plain colours are a bit boring.

Here is my rangoli pattern!

My Cat Going To The Emergency Vet!

Yesterday my cat Lolly walked into our house but she wasn't putting any weight on her front right leg. My mum said that my dad should take her to the emergency immediately but my dad said that he would book an appointment for tomorrow. After about one minute of disagreeing my cat wasn't using her hurt leg anymore so my mum forced my dad to call the emergency vet. The vet said that it was probably best to come today to get it checked out and that he should come at around three o'clock. The bad thing was that it was only one o'clock so we would have to keep her inside for two hours and we would also have to try to keep her from walking. We closed the back door and put our shoe basket in front of the cat door but luckily my cat decided to have a nap in our lounge. While we waited for three o'clock to come me and my dad threw a Frisbee around. While we were doing that we saw a full sized albatross fly over our heads!  Finally it was three o'clock and my dad took Lolly to the emergency vet. After about 45 minutes my mum texted my dad to see if they had gotten in yet but my dad said that a bleeding dog got to go in front of them. When they finally took Lolly into the vet a cat that had been hit by a car go to go in front of Lolly. Unfortunately it died. After waiting for about 30 minutes the vet came out with my cat. They said that they couldn't find anything wrong with her so they gave us some anti-inflammation medicine as they thought that was the cause of the problem. When Lolly came home we took her out of her carrier and there was a big poo in it! After my dad cleaned up the poo my mum said that they probably gave her pain medicine because she was acting a bit funny. Well today she is a bit better than yesterday. I hope she gets better.

Here is my cat!

My Kaitiakitanga

Yesterday for one of my tasks I had to write a kaitiakitanga (guarding or managing nature). We had to make a promise statement, why this is important, a personal example of how you have kept your promise and two suggestions of how others can keep this promise. Here is my Kaitiakitanga.

You might think that not much litter is dropped at all well you’re wrong. An average of 2.25 million pieces of rubbish are dropped every single day! If this continues the earth will have a piece of rubbish every meter you walk. Gross isn’t it? The biggest producers of rubbish are China and the USA who produce 60% of the world’s rubbish.

I promise to produce less rubbish. One way I am doing this is by bringing litter free lunches to school.

Here are some ways to prevent rubbish ending up in the environment:

  1. Put your rubbish in the proper bin! One tenth of Auckland's rubbish is put in the red bin when it should be put in the blue bin. I believe lockdown has helped people to litter less because people are putting rubbish in their bins because they are home all day.

  2. You could also do little things like trying to avoid using plastic bags when you can use paper bags. If paper bags go into the environment they will decompose.

  3. Pick up rubbish when you see rubbish on the ground.

  4. Avoid buying things that are individually wrapped like snacks.

Going To The Park!

Yesterday me, my dad, my sister, my granddad and my uncle went to Terry Street Park. I brought a ball to play soccer. We all stood 2 meters apart from each other and kicked the ball around. Me and my dad swapped being goal keeper every 30 minutes. After a few good shots everyone got tired so the adults sat down and talked while me and my sister played on the fitness equipment. There were some bike pedals, some pull up sort of things and a few running things too. But then it started to rain a little bit so we went home.

Tardigrade

In the lockdown I have been learning about tardigrades so in this blog post will teach you about them.

Tardigrades are 8 legged micro-animals and they are just viewable to the naked eye.

  • Tardigrades can survive up to 30 years without food or water!
  • Tardigrades can survive in minus 273 degrees!
  • Tardigrades can survive a nuclear explosion!
  • Tardigrades can survive in up to 150 degrees!
  • Tardigrades can survive radiation!
  • Tardigrades are 0.5 mm.
I hope you have learnt a lot about tardigrades.

My Picture Prompt Story

Yesterday for one of my tasks I had to write a story about a picture. We had to write at least a whole page. Mine was 376 words long which I think is pretty good.

Here is my story:

In a damp wet cave there lay a damp wet boat, yet outside the cave it was sunny. The warm wind coming from the west brushed past my face. As the fish started to bite on my hooks I saw a speck in the distance. Wait, a speck in the distance? A boat? How the heck did it get in the Bermuda triangle without being swallowed or shipwrecked? I was amazed. You’re probably wondering why I has out there. Well I live on the west coast of Bermuda and me and my parents love to eat fish. Every morning I get up and go to my favourite spot and start fishing. How did I get here? I have no idea! One day me and my parents were playing at the beach and we were sucked in by a strong current. Somehow we ended up in Bermuda. Anyway I had never seen a boat other than ours on the water Tug...Tug… I had a fish on the line. I reeled it in….a kingfish! That was a real treat as it is our favourite fish to eat. As the boat got closer I could identify that it was a pale green and that it was about 15 meters high. I could also identify an old man in a purple t-shirt sitting in the cabin. It was 10 o’clock now so I decided to head back and tell my parents about this mysterious boat. “What?!” my parents said as they saw the boat. "This is an outrage" said my dad. We all went in our boat to meet them. As we were almost there I noticed a flag raised with a skull and crossbones. “Pirates!” I screamed. We started rowing in the opposite direction but they were gaining on us fast. When we reached the shore we started the pirate siren to warn our island. Everyone gathered on the shore with our cannons and 5 cannon balls. They started to fire on us. We fired back but they all missed! I hadn’t fired my cannon ball yet but it was our last one. I aimed… I fired… A direct hit!  The pirate ship started sinking and all of Bermuda was cheering. I couldn’t believe what I had done.

My Public Service Announcement!

Today for one of my tasks I had to make a P.S.A. I chose Covid-19 as my topic because everyone is talking about it. I thought it was going to be really hard but it was actually kind of easy. Here is the link for my P.S.A! (Click present in the top right corner to make it bigger).

The Line Of Symmetry

Yesterday for one of my tasks I had to make a tivaevae (a cook island pattern). In this blog I will tell you how to make one!

    1. Get two different coloured A4 sized paper. Cut them in to sqaures. If you don't know how watch this video.
    2. Fold one of your squares into a rectangle and then fold it again to make a small square.
    3. Cut a pattern in your square by cutting small bits off the unfolded side.
    4. Open your little sqaure and stick it on your other square to make a beautiful pattern then see how symmetrical they look.
Here is mine!

My Picnic With My Grandparents!

On Saturday me, my mum, my dad and my sister went for a picnic with my grandparents. We met at Monte Cecilia Park. Before we got there we stopped at a cafe called Kreme to get our lunch to take to the park. Once we arrived we saw my grandparents sitting on a bench relaxing. We found a sunny spot to put down our picnic rug. When we finished eating we went for a walk around the loop they have there. On the loop we found some big trees with roots big enough to climb on. My sister also found a rock that someone had painted a poppy on with the word 'least we forget'.

My Music

For one of my Chinese language tasks I had to make a song on sound maker. It had to sound something like this. The instrument is called a guzheng (gu-zheng) and the song is called Spring River Flower Moon Night. Mine doesn't exactly sound how it should but I tried my best. Please DO NOT edit anything on my song.

Here is my song!

My Moon Story

Yesterday for one of my Chinese language week tasks I had to write a story about the moon. We could use the mid-autumn festival legend or Rona and the Moon for inspiration. Here is my moon story!

Once upon a time there was a girl named John. John was a rude little girl and always

kicked trees but one day she pushed it too far. It was a regular day when john was

walking to school in the night with her friend grout. They were going to vandalize their classroom room 6. When they got there they got out their spray paint and started writing bad words but unfortunately for them the board of trustees had

just finished a meeting. One of their members Scott was going home when he witnessed

the scene he held their hands behind their backs and walked down to the office. On the

way there John kicked a tree so hard it fell over! The moon saw this and picked up john

who was never seen again!

My Grannie's And Cousin's Birthday!

Yesterday was my Grannie's and cousin's birthday! Grannie turned 90 and Tyler turned one. At 4:00 we did a zoom meeting with Grannie and the rest of her family. Some of it was boring but most of it was exciting. At 5:30 Tyler had his zoom birthday! My Aunty and Uncle put a healthy birthday cake in front of him and he smashed it but it didn't last long because about 10 minutes later he had to have a bath. While he was eating his cake I ate a doughnut to feel like I was there eating cake with him. I am sad that I didn't get to celebrate my cousin's and Grannie's birthday in real life.

My Chinese Language Week Quiz!

Here is my Chinese language week quiz. Hopefully you learn something new.

Making Money Bags/Dumplings!

Yesterday for one of my Chinese new year tasks I had to make dumplings. We didn't have any dumpling cases so we used spring role cases instead. After putting the filling in and folding them up my mum started frying them. About 15 minutes later the dumpling were ready and we all had one. They were delicious! We called them money bags because they looked like them!

Here is a picture of the dumplings/money bags!

What I Have Learnt During Lockdown!

In lockdown me and my sister learnt how to play socially distanced games with our next door neighbour. For example we tell each other to do an exercise like 60 star jumps or a 25 second plank. I also learnt how (or got tall enough) to do a slam dunk in my basketball hoop. Finally I learnt a whole lot of stuff about rugby by watching the rugby championship. I now know which rugby team is the best in the world and when South Africa lost three games straight - and much more!

Going To Krispy Cream

On Saturday me, my dad and my sister went to krispy cream to get some doughnuts. When we got there the queue was almost on the road. After about 45 minutes of waiting we got to front of the queue. I ordered a small cookies and cream shake and some cookies and cream doughnuts. My sister ordered the same thing as me. We decided to do a contactless drop off of some doughnuts to my grandparents. It was nice to have a socially distanced chat with them because I miss them.

Afghans!

Yesterday me and my Mum made afghan biscuits! First we got all the ingredients out. Next we mixed them together. After that me and my sister made them into balls and planted them on the baking tray. Finally my mum chucked them in the oven and we waited for them to cook. When they were ready me and my sister ate one and they were delicious!

Here is a picture of the biscuits!

Monster Comic!

Yesterday for one of my challenges I had to make a monster and include it in a comic. My first attempt wasn't successful but my second one was! It took me about half an hour to finish my comic which is written in first person (from the monster's point of view).

Egg Challenge!

For my challenge yesterday I had to drop an egg from a height of 3m without cracking it. I wasn’t successful but here are my instructions so you can have a try.

  1. Got two little card cupcake cases.

  2. Put toilet paper in them followed by the egg.

  3. Wrapped it with toilet paper.

  4. Wrapped it with tissue paper.

  5. Sellotaped 4 straws to the bottom of the egg case, two on each side.

  6. Stuck a piece of cardboard to the bottom of the straws. This was a landing platform.

  7. Drop from a height of 3m.

Here are some photos of it!

Making A Book Mark

Last week for one of my Maori language week tasks we had to make a book mark. Here are the steps to make it.

  1. Get some red, white and black paper.
  2. Cut them into equal size strips (ideally not too thick)
  3. Start weaving them if you know how. If you don't, look for a video.
  4. Cut off any paper hanging over the edges of your bookmark.
  5. Cover it in sellotape
    for some extra strength.
That is how you make a book mark!

Making A Board Game!

Last week for one of my art tasks we had to make a board game. It could be any board game, but it must be creative.
I made a board game that was a bit of 10 other board games including monopoly and snakes and ladders. It took me about 30 minutes to make before me, my Mum and my sister played it. After about 45 minutes of playing we realized it was much too hard to finish so I made a few edits (added Q cards with special instructions) and then we were able to finish it.

Here is a picture of the board game!

What I will do tonight!

Tonight me and my family are going to watch a movie! We are going to eat our dinner in front of it - pretend K.F.C. My mum said we should watch Mrs Doubtfire but I am not too sure about that (please leave your suggestions in the comments). We are also going to have a boysenberry pudding for dessert but I have never had boysenberries before so I'll see how it tastes. I think my Mum will some how persuade me to watch Mrs Doubtfire but we will see. I can't wait for tonight!

Making A Poi

In this blog post I am going to tell you how to make a poi.

  1. Braid three ribbons together. Make sure there is some ribbon left at the end so you can tie it around the poi stuffing.
  2. Get a plate, lay it on some fabric and cut around the outside of it.
  3. Get some stuffing (we used an old pillow) and place it in the middle of the fabric circle.
  4. Tie the end of the braided ribbon around the stuffing.
  5. Wrap the fabric around the stuffing then get some string. Tie it around the fabric to make sure the stuffing stays in the poi.
Here is my poi!

Maori Language Week Day Two!

Yesterday for my Maori language task I had to say our P
epeha. Again I thought it was going to be easy but it wasn't. This Pepeha was much longer than the other one. I don't think it completely how it should sound but I tried my best.

Here it is!

Here is the Pepeha I had to say!

My Maori Language Task!

Yesterday for my reading task I had to take a video of myself saying this Maori verse. I thought it was going to be easy but it took me a long time to get it right. Watch it below!

Here is what I had to say:

My Mum And Dad Get Vaccinated!

On Friday my Mum and Dad got their Covid-19 vaccinations. My Dad hadn't got a vaccination since 1998 so he was quite scared. When we got there there was a reasonably small queue so it only took us about 20 minutes to get to the front. My Mum got her vaccination first. She went in with my sister then I went in with my Dad. Surprisingly he didn't do anything, he just sat there. After our fifteen minute wait to see if my parents' had a reaction we went home.

Tongan Language Week!

This week is Tongan language week! For my writing I had to do a report on it. It had to include lots of facts and sometimes it was hard to find information. I got a few ideas off my classmates when they shared their screen in the goggle meet but mostly off the slides that my teacher gave me. The fact that surprised me the most is that Tonga has around 180 islands. Please tell me what fact you found the most interesting in the comments.

Here is the link for my report.

How To Play Bouncy Connect Four!

How to play bouncy connect four - Connect Four Shots!

  1. Get the game from your local toy shop.
  2. Follow the instructions to set it up.
  3. Split the balls into their colours - red and yellow (the orange ball is the spare.)
  4. Get two other friends to play, One to play against and one to be the fielder. The fielder throws the balls back to the players if they miss.
  5. Start bouncing the balls to try and get them in the frame.
  6. The first person to get four in a row wins!

Here is the game so you get an idea of what it is.

My Cat's Birthday!

Today is my cat's birthday. She is turning 13! We are going to celebrate by giving her lots of cat treats and a little hut my sister and me made out of cardboard. It has a play area, a blanket area and a shady area in case it is hot. We played with some ping pong balls in the morning. We rolled them and she chased them. In human years, according to a study, she is now 68 years old! Her name is Lolly and she mainly likes to sleep, eat and sometimes play depending on how she is feeling. Right now she is sleeping on my parents' bed. I hope she has a great day!

Here is the cat hut we made.

If My Toys Came Alive!

This week for my writing task I had to write a story about my toys if they came alive. It was very hard to imagine what they would do but some toys were easier to guess than others. It's a bit short but I hope you like it!

If My Toys Came Alive

If my toys were alive they would probably have a war, especially my army men! I assume that some of them would go for a vacation to Fiji or go to live in the woods. I think that my dad might be sad if my toys went away because some of them were from his childhood. My dominos would be scared because they have been forgotten about. My teddy bear, pink ted, would probably just stay where he was and occasionally walk around. I’m not sure what my Lego would do because they have no legs and nowhere to be. Maybe they would make a tower for me? That would be very helpful because it would take a long time for me to do it. In conclusion I am not 100% sure what my toys would do, but I bet they do!

Here is my teddy bear pink ted.

My Weekend!

On Saturday I went for a long walk to Terry Street Park but before we got there we stopped at the dairy. I got a chocolate trumpet. When we got there me, my dad and my sister played soccer. After about 30-45 minutes of soccer we decided to go for a bush walk.

On Sunday it was Father's Day! I gave my dad a card and some chocolates. Mum cooked us all some we french toast with bacon and maple syrup. Later in the afternoon we went for a bike ride to Point Chevalier beach. My sister and I made a bridge over a big puddle with fallen down branches. When we arrived home we had snacks on the deck. I tried gherkins for the first time. They were disgusting!

Rats!

Yesterday my Aunty sent a picture to my mum and the picture was of 10 baby rats! Apparently they went to their compost and in it were the baby rats. They bought them up to their deck to see what they were and their neighbors cat came to watch them. Also yesterday I finished my bug hotel! (Go to an earlier post to see what it is). I had to go for a walk in the woods to collect more sticks because we didn't have enough. To keep all the sticks in, we put some tacks on the frame and then zigzagged string around them.

Here is my bug hotel and the baby rats!

What I Want To Do After Lockdown!

The things I want to do after lockdown are...

  1.  See my family and friends because I havn't seen them for a long time.
  2.  Go to somewhere we can have fun, like the Zoo or Motat.
  3.  Go to school maybe, depending on how I am feeling.
  4.  Do a long bike ride to a place I have never been.
  5.  Celebrate my friend's and family's birthday if they had on in lockdown.
  6.  Buy a new pair of slippers (because my ones are way too big.)
  7.  Go on holiday to somewhere other than Auckland.

Thunder Storm!

Last night there was a thunder storm! There was lots of crackling and booming. My cat was outside probably hiding as the storm raged on. Messages were coming in, my grandparents dog was barking. My other grandparents power had gone out! Our house was shaking so was my Aunty's and Uncle's house. In the middle of the storm I went to bed but I was worried about my cat. In the morning I woke up and went to wake up my mum. We went in the lounge and under the couch was my cat! Eventually she came out. She had come in through the cat door. Now that the storm has stooped and there is only a sprinkle of rain we can go outside.

Bug Hotel

Last week for one of my science projects we had to make a bug hotel. I asked my granddad to make the base and I would put in all the sticks, bamboo, hay and leaves in it. Yesterday me and my Dad decided to go for bush just down the street to collect things for it. When we got in the woods we found lots of sticks that bugs could crawl in, some moss, leaves and a few other things. After we finished our bush walk we went home but without bamboo. Luckily my other granddad has some in his yard so we can go and collect it. Now I just need to wait to get the bamboo and the frame.

Bug Trap

For my science task this week I had to make a bug trap. In this blog post I will tell you how to make one. For this project you will need a plastic container, some cardboard and some kebab sticks. First you dig a hole in the ground just deep enough for the plastic container to fit in. Make sure that the top of the container is at ground level so the bugs can fall in. Next get a piece of cardboard and make sure it is big enough to cover the plastic container. Get four kebab sticks and poke one in each corner. Dig the kebab sticks into the dirt but not too deep. You should be able to fit at least two fingers in between the cardboard and dirt. The cardboard is there to protect the trap from the rain, like an umbrella. Tada you now have a bug trap!

Here is my bug trap!

My Writing

Today for my writing task we had to write a story about a picture, here is mine!

The Story Behind the "Dogs Playing Poker" Painting

It was the dead of night when the growler gang decided to play a game of cards in their secret lair! Their gang leader sat at the back of the room, he was also a card master. All of them were either smoking a cigarette or drinking beer. As they were in the middle of their game the two dogs on the opposite side of the table to the team leader decided to cheat and gave each other cards when in need. The team leader and his two brothers had given birth to the gang in 1989. After that it grew to the now seven members. The dark picture at the back of the room is of them arriving in London in 1994. The game of cards had been going on since 10:00pm and it was now 1:10am. The winner of the game would receive 50 pounds from the person who came last. If they refused to pay the fine they were excluded from the gang. The walls in the lair were as blue as the ocean and the light was as red as a rose, yet the clock was as old as London!
