The Paralympics

The Paralympics goes from the 24th of August to the 5th September 2021 and this year it is being held in Tokyo. Sophie Pascoe is New Zealand's most decorated paralympian. She is a swimmer and so far she has won 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal with more possibly to be won. Also on the medal table NZ has 3 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze which means we are currently sitting 22nd on the medal table. Valarie Adams' sister Lisa Adams is also competing in shotput. She is coached by her older sister Valarie Adams won bronze in the Olympics. Lisa Adams has won gold in the Paralympics.

    Lots of information here! That’s really cool! I like that you’ve said where the paralympics are, when it takes place and even a rundown of our medals tally.

    I watched Lisa Adams get her medal. Her sister was so happy and I bet her son was too!

    Do you think you could make it a little personal and include which sport you enjoyed watching? Or maybe even some pictures of what our athletes look like?
