Bug Trap

For my science task this week I had to make a bug trap. In this blog post I will tell you how to make one. For this project you will need a plastic container, some cardboard and some kebab sticks. First you dig a hole in the ground just deep enough for the plastic container to fit in. Make sure that the top of the container is at ground level so the bugs can fall in. Next get a piece of cardboard and make sure it is big enough to cover the plastic container. Get four kebab sticks and poke one in each corner. Dig the kebab sticks into the dirt but not too deep. You should be able to fit at least two fingers in between the cardboard and dirt. The cardboard is there to protect the trap from the rain, like an umbrella. Tada you now have a bug trap!

My Writing

 Today for my writing task we had to write a story about a picture, here is mine!

It was the dead of night when the growler gang decided to play a game of cards in their secret lair! Their gang leader sat at the back of the room, he was also a card master. All of them were either smoking a cigarette or drinking beer. As they were in the middle of their game the two dogs on the opposite side of the table to the team leader decided to cheat and gave each other cards when in need. The team leader and his two brothers had given birth to the gang in 1989. After that it grew to the now seven members. The dark picture at the back of the room is of them arriving in London in 1994. The game of cards had been going on since 10:00pm and it was now 1:10am. The winner of the game would receive 50 pounds from the person who came last. If they refused to pay the fine they were excluded from the gang. The walls in the lair were as blue as the ocean and the light was as red as a rose, yet the clock was as old as London!

Lockdown Podcast

This week for my writing task I had to write and record a podcast. It took me about two days to write the script because it was really hard to come up with ideas. Eventually I finished it but then came the hard bit, recording it. I thought it was going to be an easy task but it took me about an hour to get all my lines right! Next time I do a podcast I will be prepared!

Noah Lockdown 

Brownies!

Yesterday after I had finished all my school work, me, my mum and my sister decided to make some brownie. My first job was to cut 200 grams of butter but I made a really crooked cut so it was only about 178 grams. Eventually I got there by adding bits on. After adding a few more ingredients our brownie was ready to put in the oven so it could start to cook. While the brownie was cooking I had Zoom with my cousin Harriet and we read a book to her. After that the brownie was ready so we took it out of the oven and ate some, then spent the rest of the afternoon playing games.

My Olympic Slides!

For my reading task last week we had to make an Olympic slide/Olympic animation. We had to do one about the Ancient Greek Olympics, the 1920 Olympics and the 2020 Olympics. It was hard work, it took me about three days to complete. I went on about 50 different websites and altogether it probably took me 2-3 hours to finish it but here it is! 😀 Which fact surprised you the most? Please let me know in the comments. 

My Lockdown So Far!

During lockdown so far I have done lots of school work but I often run out of work so then my mum sets something up for me to do. At the start of a lockdown I always enjoy it but by end of it I really want to see my friends and family. On Saturday me, my Mum and my sister made scones. We made cheese scones and plain scones. When we were making them I thought there were going to be lots of ingredients but there was only sprite, cream, salt and flour. We put cheese on top of some of them. On Sunday we went for a two and a half hour bike ride around my neighborhood and we stoped at the dairy to get an ice cream. So far today I'm writing a blog post! Soon I will be meeting up on my class Goggle Meet.

Home school!

Yesterday there was a case of covid 19 with no known link. It is the delta variant so we had to immediately go into a level 4 lockdown. Since it is lockdown, my mum has to homeschool me which is sometimes fun. For my writing she asked me to do a blog post. For my math I have to do my exciting independent work on the class website and for reading I also have to do work on my class website. Tommorow I have a boring Google meet at 9 o'clock. I would prefer them to be at around 10 o'clock. I like lockdown because I get to do lots of baking with my sister and my mum.
